I am a 38 year old guy born in Tulsa Oklahoma but my father moved to Denton Texas when I was just six months old in order to do Doctoral work at the then North Texas State University.  I attended private school when I was younger but eventually transferred to a public elementary school named Ginnings here in Denton so I could be around some of the neighborhood kids.  I then went to Strickland Junior High where I played football and soccer.

For high school, I attended Denton High School where I played soccer.  I did ok as far as grades.  I took extra math classes because I was pretty good at that and I also really enjoyed drafting.  My best two friends were Shabeeb and Brad.  We drank, hung out, drank, partied, drank, and played soccer.  Did I mention we drank?  We drank...a lot.  They both worked at Pizza Inn and I might as well have since I hung out all the time there.

For college, Shabeeb and I moved in with each other and attended the University of Texas at Arlington.  He went on to get a B.A. in Architecture and followed that with a M.A. in Architecture.  I moved back to Denton and went to the University of North Texas.  I received a B.B.A. in Strategic Management with a minor in real Estate in 1994.  I also received a Certificate in International Business.  I followed that with an M.B.A. in Business Computer Information Systems in 2001.  I also finished an M.S. in Information Technology in the summer of 2003.

During my early college years, I met someone and we had two great kids.  My daughter, Taryn, is in tenth grade.  She is in several advanced classes and is in several extra curricular activities like orchestra and soccer.  My son, Joshua, is in fourth grade.  He is pretty hard headed but if he applies himself half as much as Taryn, he will be in great shape.  He is a red belt in Karate.  Anything his older sister wants to do, he seems to want to try.  Things didn't work out between their mother and I but we both prioritize the kids.

Now, I work for my parents in their family business and for the University of North Texas department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences.  I teach an MIS class while working on my dissertation in the Doctoral program at the University of North Texas.  I am trying to get a Ph.D. in Business Computer Information Systems.  I am minoring in Logistics.  The PhD program is rough.  Really, really rough.  But when I am finished, I can honestly say to my self that I have gone as far as I can in academia.  Ph.D.s also make a pretty good chunk of change.
